Nina Martinelli Pisos e Revestimentos, a company based in São Paulo, presented its new line of handmade coverings at Expo Revestir 2025. The pieces are the result of a meticulous manual process, in which technique and sensitivity meet to reveal finishes that reflect the desires and values of those who will inhabit the spaces.
With roots in one of Brazil's main immigration flows between 1890 and 1930, Nina Martinelli's history is marked by a strong family heritage. This ancestral influence helped shape the brand's identity, which is still expressed today in its rustic, tradition-laden designs.
At Nina Martinelli, production is essentially handmade. The pieces are molded by hand, with little or no machine intervention, which makes each product unique. The company values the human factor behind creation - people who, with their stories and skills, imprint identity on every detail. The new line is based on the premise that the elements of a space should create authentic sensory connections between environments and people.
Winners of the Tile Design category at Expo Revestir 2025, Due Vecchio Terracota tiles pay tribute to Brazil's indigenous heritage. Inspired by the ancestral relationship with the earth and the use of clay, the tiles combine simplicity and cultural richness. With dimensions of 7x7 cm and 7x14 cm, the tiles have natural ceramic "brick" facets, produced with recycled raw materials and subjected to double firing - which guarantees a rustic and organic texture.
Handmade production already reduces carbon emissions. At Nina Martinelli, sustainability goals are achieved through a variety of everyday practices - from buying clay from local mines to reusing water and using recycled components in the production of their finishes.
All production waste is reused in the manufacture of new products, feeding back into an ethical cycle of respectful use of natural resources.
