Participation in fair in the USA generates US$ 48 million in new business for the Brazilian ceramic tiles sector

During Coverings 2024, the largest and most significant exhibition of ceramic tiles and natural stone in North America, which took place from April 22 to 25 in Atlanta, USA, 16 Brazilian ceramic tile manufacturers were present with the support of the Ceramics of Brazil project, carried out through a partnership between Anfacer (National Association of Manufacturers of Ceramics for Tiles, Sanitary Ware and Congeners) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The deals closed at the event totaled US$ 8 million and the outlook for the next 12 months is for a further US$ 40 million in exports. 

The Brazilian ceramic tile industry is a major player on the world market, being the third largest industry in terms of production and consumption, and the sixth largest exporter with sales to more than 110 countries. The USA is the main market for Brazilian ceramics. Last year, Brazil exported more than US$ 101 million to the country. 

The following companies took part in this edition: Alfagrês, Angelgres, Carmelo Fior, Cejatel, Cerbras, Cristofoletti, Delta Cerâmica, Dexco, Eliane, Elizabeth, Formigres, Grupo Almeida, Karina Pisos, LEF, Lume Cerâmica and Pointer. Brazil's participation has been a tradition since 1998.

Ceramics of Brazil

Created in 2001, the sector project of the Brazilian ceramic industry, Ceramics of Brazil, is promoted by Anfacer (National Association of Ceramic Tile Manufacturers) in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments). 

The aim is to promote Brazilian exports of ceramic tiles and sanitary ware, supporting the Brazilian ceramics industry in its efforts to enter the international market through promotion and participation in international fairs and events, commercial intelligence, among other specific actions. The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad and attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy.

To achieve these objectives, ApexBrasil carries out diversified commercial promotion actions aimed at promoting exports and adding value to Brazilian products and services abroad, such as prospective and commercial missions, business rounds, support to the participation of Brazilian companies in major international fairs, visits of foreign buyers and opinion makers to get to know the Brazilian productive structure, among other business platforms that also aim at strengthening the Brazil brand.

The agency also works in coordination with public and private actors to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to Brazil, with a focus on strategic sectors for developing the competitiveness of Brazilian companies and the country.
