Over the years, Expo Revestir has established itself as an important platform for Portobello to showcase its evolution in products, technology, and design.
More than just a showcase for new products, the fair has become a space for experimenting with ideas, expanding the possibilities of ceramics, and establishing dialogues with professionals from different fields. It is in this environment of exchange that Portobello has been building a trajectory guided by innovation and co-creation.
Through the Portobello Group's Innovation Cycle, architects, designers, artists, and professionals from different sectors brought diverse perspectives to the industry, while Portobello leveraged its technology, expertise, and production capacity to support these new ideas. The result is solutions that expand the possibilities for ceramics in the market.
In 2021, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, Portobello took the Unlimited booth to Expo Revestir in a virtual format. The initiative maintained connections with professionals and visitors and presented new products such as Unlimited Experience, with new possibilities in slabs, and Horizontes, designed by journalist and presenter Pedro Andrade . Inspired by five destinations from the professional's travel repertoire, the collection brought experiences and references from different places to ceramics, an approach that is part of the brand's creative DNA.

With the return to in-person experiences in 2022, co-creation gained even more prominence. The Unlimited Dreams collection brought together different generations and languages of architecture and design in partnerships with Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Nadezh da Mendes da Rocha , in the Soma line; Ruy Ohtake , in the Oh!take and Soul lines; and the Italian designer Paola Navone , in Shibori. The diversity of authors broadened Portobello's repertoire and showed that innovation can also arise from dialogue between different creative visions.
In 2023, this dynamic expanded to new frontiers. The partnership with Oskar Metsavaht gave rise to the materia_prima collection, developed from the essential elements of ceramics and research that brought together matter, nature, and sustainability. In the same year, the collaboration with chef Alex Atala resulted in the A2to countertop, bringing issues such as matter, texture, and functionality into the kitchen. Although operating in distinct fields, both partnerships stemmed from the same premise: incorporating new repertoires into the industry to create original solutions with meaning and application in architecture.
The following year, architecture returned to center stage with Isay Weinfeld , in a collaboration that resulted in the Folia and Bordas lines . Colors, shapes, and proportions were worked from a precise yet playful language, translating characteristic elements of the architect's work into ceramics. The partnership reinforced Portobello's ability to transform authorial references into products, preserving its identity while expanding its possibilities for use.

In 2025, the collaboration strategy gained scale with the presentation of Bossa On The Road, Portobello's first global collection, aligned with the Portobello Group's internationalization project, which inaugurated a factory in the USA in October 2023. The collection brought together references from different markets and cultures from a perspective that preserves Brazilian identity while recognizing the diversity of repertoires that influence contemporary architecture.
The highlight was the Haptic line, developed in co-creation with the artist Vik Muniz . His research on matter, image, and perception found a new medium in ceramics, exploring textures and effects inspired by, among other references, watercolor paper. The edition also expanded the brand's ecosystem of solutions with Kitchen & Bath , an exclusive curation of metal fixtures, which broadens Portobello's complete solution portfolio.
“Portobello’s journey at Expo Revestir demonstrates a distinct evolution in the market, going far beyond a succession of product launches. By bringing industry and creation closer together, the brand builds new paths for ceramics and expands its dialogue with architecture, design, art, and other creative fields,” highlights Cesar Gomes Junior, CEO of the Portobello Group.

This evolution was also reflected in the booth itself. Throughout the editions, the space came to be conceived as part of the brand experience, and not just as a support for launches. Complete environments bring the visitor closer to the different possibilities of applying the products and help to translate, on a real scale, the concept behind each collection. In 2025, a work by Vik Muniz was integrated into the exhibition design and contributed to creating an immersive experience, with environments such as a balcony, bathroom, closet, living room, and kitchen.
Throughout its history at Expo Revestir, Portobello has also won the Best in Show award, presented by ANFACER, which highlights the importance of national products and selects the best lines in different categories launched annually at the fair. Products such as the Neotropical Sunset line (Design Brazil category), The Edge and Matter Amber (Ceramic Tile category), among others, reinforce the company's position as a benchmark in design and innovation in the surface sector, highlighting its ability to anticipate contemporary architectural trends and translate them into solutions that combine aesthetics, technology, and sustainability.
Sustainability has also become more concretely integrated into the design of the stands. In recent editions, Portobello has incorporated solutions that consider not only the assembly of the space, but also the life cycle of the materials used. One example is the adoption of Glued Laminated Timber (GLT), a structure produced with certified, resistant, and reusable wood. In addition to reducing interventions in the warehouse, the system arrives pre-produced at the site, contributing to a cleaner and more efficient assembly.
It is in this ability to transform encounters into new possibilities that lies one of the main characteristics of Portobello's presence at the fair. With each edition, new authors, repertoires, and technologies enter into dialogue with the brand's expertise, making co-creation not only a development strategy but a way of thinking about the future of architecture and contemporary spaces.
