The program, coordinated by Anfacer, recorded compliance of more than 98% in the samples tested. It is the highest index in 11 years, attesting to consumers the quality of Brazilian ceramics.

"The compliance record demonstrates the sector's commitment to consolidating the high level of excellence in the quality of the Brazilian product and respect for the consumer," says Anderson Vieira, quality and sustainability consultant at Anfacer. For him, the index achieved reinforces the importance of reindustrialization with attention to the criteria of sustainability and competitiveness. Strong Industry is Strong Country.

The PSQ is aligned with the Brazilian Habitat Quality and Productivity Program (PBQP-H) and counts on the Ceramic Center of Brazil (CCB), which has Inmetro accreditation, as a certifying body. Its objective is to monitor the quality of the manufacture of national and imported ceramic tiles, encouraging the compliance of products with Brazilian technical standards (NBR ISO), in order to stimulate the technological evolution of the sector.

"We work to elevate ceramic tiles to the 'state of the art', increasing quality levels in the operations of the entire sector, whether industry, retail or distribution chain. We act from end to end," says Vieira, adding: "The goal is for ceramics to leave the factory and reach the consumer with the same quality after installation."

"The effectiveness of the Program is proven by the Compliance Indicator which is above 98%. This is an example of a Program that only brings benefits to all stakeholders. Participating companies gain from improved product quality, reduced production costs, increased productivity, improved company image, access to new markets and increased competitiveness. Consumers also benefit, since they can have quality products including: greater safety, greater reliability of products, greater satisfaction, lower maintenance costs and greater durability of products ", highlights Ana Paula Margarido, Superintendent of the Ceramic Center of Brazil.

The Quality Sector Program (PSQ) is a voluntary program that aims to improve the quality and safety of construction materials. It is part of the Brazilian Habitat Quality and Productivity Program (PBQP-H). The PSQ of ceramic tiles has Anfacer as its maintaining entity and CCB as its technical management entity and is based on the international standards NBR ISO 13.006 and with attention to the criteria of sustainability and competitiveness NBRISO 10545 (Parts 1 to 16).

Among the different ABNT technical standards monitored by the PSQ are: water absorption levels, dimensions and surface quality; determination of breaking load and flexural strength modulus; resistance to deep abrasion (unglazed slabs); moisture expansion; and stain resistance.

Since 2010, the PSQ has collected more than 12,377 samples, performed 111,523 tests and had the participation of 52 companies, equivalent to more than 90% of the national ceramic tile industry. Nevertheless, the quality of ceramic tiles has been measured since 1993 by Anfacer.
